About Dominomics
Your money sits somewhere in the chain.
Dominomics takes one big story at a time, like a closed shipping lane, an oil shock or a market crash, and follows its chain reaction domino by domino, all the way to your prices, your mortgage and your savings.
We look at the world from Asia: from Jakarta’s stock market and Johor’s river to Korea’s won and India’s gold. No jargon and no hype. Clear cause and effect, real data, and the sources for every number.
The mark
The push
Three domino tiles. Each one is 1.5 times the size of the one before, which is about the largest a domino can knock over. The small amber tile is tipping into the next: a small push sets off ever bigger falls. That is the whole idea of the channel.
The tiles also rise like a bar chart, so the mark says “economics” without a dollar sign.
How an episode is made
From one event to your money, in six steps
Find the question
We look at what people across Asia are searching for and watching, in many languages, and pick the story where a clear explanation is missing.
Follow the chain
We map the story as a chain of cause and effect, from the first event to the last domino: you. Each link becomes a chapter.
Check every number
Figures come from the primary source wherever we can get one: central banks, company filings, exchanges, statistics offices and reporting on the ground. Every script has a fact-check log.
Do the maths ourselves
When the answer isn’t published anywhere, we work it out, like converting the gold price into 16 Asian currencies or stress-testing six economies, and we say on screen that it’s our calculation.
Show real things as they are
Real places, people and events get real photos, footage, satellite images and documents, with free licences and credits. AI-generated illustrations appear only as metaphors, like a domino or an iceberg, and the description says so.
Publish with the sources
Every episode ships with its sources, chapters, English subtitles and notes, and many with translations. The narration is an AI voice, and we say that too.
Our standards
What you can expect from every episode
- Sources, every time
- Every episode lists its sources, on YouTube and on its page here. Where we did our own analysis, we say so.
- Dated numbers
- Markets move fast, so figures carry a date (“as of October 21, 2026”). An episode is true as of the day it was made.
- Local money, in US dollars too
- Every ringgit, rupiah, won or rupee figure comes with a US$ equivalent, at an exchange rate we state.
- Explained, not advised
- We don’t predict prices and never tell you to buy or sell. When a figure is an estimate or a paper loss, we label it.
- Honest about AI
- The narration is an AI voice, and AI illustrations are used only for metaphors. Real events are always shown with real images.
- Corrections in the open
- If we get something wrong, we correct it in the episode’s description and log it on our corrections page.
- Sponsors are labelled
- If an episode is ever sponsored, we’ll say so clearly, and sponsors don’t get a say over our analysis. More
- Independent
- Dominomics is an independent channel. Nobody pays to be in an episode, and nobody gets to approve what we say about them.
Questions
Good to know
Is this financial advice?
No. Every episode is for education and entertainment. We explain what happened and why; we don’t predict prices and we never tell anyone to buy or sell anything.
How often do new episodes come out?
When the story is ready and still matters. There’s no fixed schedule. Subscribe on YouTube or sign up for Domino Watch to hear about the next one.
Can I suggest a story?
Please do. Leave a comment under any episode on YouTube, or email business@dominomicsofficial.com. Many episodes start with a question someone asked.
Are there subtitles in my language?
Many episodes have translated titles, descriptions and subtitles, in languages such as Bahasa Indonesia, Bahasa Melayu, Korean, Japanese, Hindi, Vietnamese, French and Chinese (traditional and simplified). Turn on subtitles in the YouTube player and pick your language.
Can I use your charts or analysis?
Ask us first at business@dominomicsofficial.com. Some of our charts are built on other organisations’ data or images, so the answer depends on the chart.
